French driving trip
Discussion
Hi All,
In the next few weeks a few friends and i would like to embark on a driving trip in France. I've had a quick look on the forums to find suggested trips... if i've missed a useful thread let me know.
We'd like to spend a long weekend doing it and would like a mixture of camping and B&Bs.. basically i'm looking for any advice on trips and locations - anything would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Nick.

Hmm
How about the Loire Valley? There are plenty of Municipal Campsites & Chambre d'Hotes, and the D Roads along it are worth a drive.
You have a combination of vineyards, Chateaux and great roads!
A good suggestion is that if you find a bottle of wine you like in a Restaurant, get a map and drive to the Domaine(s) - it makes for a great day out exploring the region! (And a snoring passenger!
)
The road up to Chateau d'Usse is great for photo opportunities - come back via Le Mans for another photo opportunity at the Circuit...
Or there's the Millau Bridge, but that may be pushing it for four days...I think you need 5 days, so you can explore rather than driving there & back.
Or there's Saint Nazaire with its fantastic Bridge
Hope that helps a little - now you have to decide!!

We've been exploring the Champagne Region with various groups of Tiv's for the past 5 years. Have a look at www.tvrcc-surrey.co.uk past events for some of our jaunts. The roads are amazing, loads of Champagne Houses to explore (the really good stuff never leaves France) and the cost of staying in real Champagne Houses is excellent (can be 45-60 euros a room which includes breakfast and a botttle of chilled Champagne).
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
