VMAX SUV Title
Discussion
Craig,
I Like the idea of sub-categories, as there are in other 'similar' events. It doesn't devalue the event especially if you screen the participants (obviously), it just creates other areas of interest and focus for a wider scope of competition.
I wouldn't go too far though..
all the best

A cunning bag of Tudor, Craig San.
However, beware the Top/5th Gear 'clownification' factor which depurifies the spirit of the whole shooting match.
What he said. However, beware the Top/5th Gear 'clownification' factor which depurifies the spirit of the whole shooting match.
Those who've attended more than once, very quickly realise that the heady heights of 200+ are reserved for very very expensive machinery, so the rest of us accept we'll never reach such speeds & just like the banter, swaping of stories & vainly try to squeeze that extra 1MPH in the vain hope of getting closer to our cars VMAX.
Having different groupings i think would de-value VMAX. The event is more about fun than competition (IMHO).

I think this could be doable whilst keeping it simple, just with adding a couple of lines onto the homepage where we currently have..
So should someone take 3 passengers on the day and get a corking speed then that's fine, ditto for someone turning up in an uber-SUV.

Current Records:
Top Speed: Leon at 207mph
Roof Down: Mark at 190mph
I can just add in "Four Up:" and "SUV:" to that list as well if needs be, but still keep the events in the same vein as they already are.Top Speed: Leon at 207mph
Roof Down: Mark at 190mph
