Hi! I don't have a car, but i DO live within braking distance of the starting line of Circuit des Remparts, here in Angoulême, France, so if anybody is thinking of coming to the race, do get in touch.

I could offer basic accomodation if needed. Also, i have a friend with a Bikers hotel, that's out of town though.

My email is: zendevil3@wanadoo.fr

I didnt see this post until now - I was looking on here for reports of people who went.

I was there for the 2nd time in as many years. A great little event in a stunning location (Zendevil what do you do for a living in Angouleme?).

My Pics are here

We arrived on the Saturday and made a week of it by visiting Bordeaux for the day (via the ultra efficient TGV from Angouleme), as well as Jarnac, Cognac, Arcachon (Dune De Pyla), La RocheFoucauld (sp?) and the haunting village or Oradour-sur-Glane.

Another great holiday in the Charente!

Hiya ga guzzlers!

I'm already getting requests for this years Circuit Des Remparts, so if you're inteested, please contact me ASAP! It's a smll & rather nutty house right next to the circuit & hotels are mostly by now pretty booked up sodo let me know if you are interested (I'm also member of Hospitality Club & Couchsurfers, so do et lots of requests for the fetival times....first ones to confirm get the most reasonable accomodation in my smalll but almost perfetly formed litle house....)

I don't charge for accomodation, but obviously any daft gifts are most welcome, plus, it's great to meet new people & soacialise. It's not a hotel or B&B, just a little house, but i seem to manage to fipeople in somehow....maybe you end up in "grenier" (attic) which is basic, so sleeping bags are a good idea!

I may be slow to reply since i've got some very boring health problems to sort out in the next week or two *but* even if i couldn't put you up personally, i have a network of nearby fiendly folk who probably could!

Email me direct please at:

Terri stop it!

Its bad enough the Charente is getting ruined by the retired middle-class members of the teaching profession (Aubeterre on a Sunday afternoon, Chalais market Monday morning, Riberac market Friday morning, all you can bloody hear are the irritating tones of a British middle aged woman who you just know was an English or Maths teacher) but dont encourage the flaming petrolheads to ruin the bloody area! Hooning Brits have already almost ruined continental driving, but at least its mostly confined to Northern France and the 'Ring route, dont bring them down to the Charente!

Angouleme is crap. There is nothing to see. The weather is worse than Blackpool, the locals hate you and all the roads are crap. Please dont go there. Or at the very least dont go any further south.

Nimby? Absolutely. I leave the 'Ring to the motoring chavs, you lot can leave my playground alone!

Agreee with justa bout everything now said about Ang & am seriously thinking of leaving; soon as blood suckers finish & race is over.

I willl probably be walking slowly to Dublin with a shopping trolley & tent along tiny lanes. My great dream is for an aged donkey to accompany me. This could make great Reality TV, but i'd need car back up, since i'm "in danger of death" acording to Docs. But bks, one last adventure.

I have a long, evil list of poss; publicity etc & am deadly serious. Top of list for backuble sponsors is Bugatti. It's 6O3 miles.<<<<<<<<<<<<or kg & i'd want to get everyone from Clarkson to HRH & his lovely new wife involved: obviously highest payers of Reality TV (hopeless with this!Play "mobility/charity angle & car adaptibility (i can't do hills but you lot sure can!)

just don't run the blooody donkey over & help me read the map, no wish to end up in iceland!)

Can you confirm dates of arrival, hotels needed;how many in my shack here needed ASAP also please! And i got burgled lately, so bring security; asssurance more than usual (The swines nicked my Fender, can you imagine?????)

Please email on zendevil3@wanadoo.fr ASAP. Can you fit a donkey in a Bugatti? I bet you'd be on Prime TV!

Bon voyage tous les lot; hope to squeak to you soon, not putting mobile number on here, but "it is known by favoured few" & willl pass via email also. CATERHAMS KNOW IT DEFNITELY.

Terri:PS? IF ANY OF YOU HAVE A *Reliable* harness & know the secret of getting the thing on; Please; please help out!!!!! for uncooperitive cat!

Computer is on last legs too; if a laptop compatible wih Frogland happned to be unloved & work on later than Windows 98!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<nothing special;on French system i don't do video games etc; just email, BBC , MSN, GOOGLE.

Take care, have fun, looking forward to seeing you all!
