It took 40.8 seconds to brake from 100mph? He should get that looked at wink

I am awaiting more data if he has it. But I can only assume that it is recording to 100 MPH max and the time elapsed from start thru top speed, slow down and stop back at marshalling area.

I think after his last V-Max and the cost of the new clutch kit at Porsche Craig launches quite gently now. I dont imagine launching it at full tilt would have added 1 MPH to its top speed as you still need to slow down for the bottom turn ?

Yup - I wouldn't pay too much attention to the 0-100 figures as I was trying to take it somewhat easy on the standing start (although the 4.0s 0-60 doesn't exactly give that impression!!) and was certainly easing up for the first corner to try and get a decent line for the second one, maximising runway for VMax.

Allan - the data that you have is all that the unit logged to the SD card, it's a Racelogic PerformanceBox (http://www.performancebox.co.uk ) and I believe you would get more of the detail you are after from the DBN files I provided you, these need to be interpreted by the software from their website.

I've got one of those (well the Driftbox version which has a few more sensors) and it's an excellent tool for seeing what really happened. I did an airfield day with CarLimits and you can even see when we drove off to the pub at lunchtime down to what parking space at the pub I used!

Impressive numbers Allan and Bruce smile

What did the car do 60 - 130 in?

A real shame my own car blew its top early on, would have been great to do some runs together sonar

From your data and laser speeds Bruce I would think your tune is producing a real ~ 540 hp / 750 NM, best to get some stronger rods in there for peace of mind long term.

he should be ok without rods until at least 600hp. there are 640hp 996TTs running around with no internal mods for many many miles. i agree with you to err on the side of safety. but he still has a ways to go...

Don't wish to go O/T, but torque bends rods not hp I believe. A real 750NM plus of torque will bend stock rods in time.

Mod500 is correct in that continued hard use of high gears and low revs will result in big boost quickly and the resulting torque [c780Nm]will bend the rods. BHP is all at max revs so bending is not the issue here it is the size of the bang then trying to get the pistons to change direction, this usually results in small end failure then a broken rod.

Definately going off topic now... Allan, what do you feel is the max boost to be run on a 993 or 996 turbo, particularly after peak torque, assuming standard internals?
