I hope nobody minds me putting this up...but my MOT is due soon and I need to make some money. biggrin I put this up on Nutz, and wondered if other people might be interested too, but for a seperate event obviously.

Basically, I'm offering members of this site a chance to have professional pictures taken of their pride and joy.Ideally, this would have to take place on a Sunday due to work constraints.

The number of attendees will ultimately determine the price, but if I can get at least 7 people then I can do 8 images for £40. Contrastingly, some photographers charge £900 for 6 shots, and I'm sure youve all seen the folks in the entrance to shows who charge roughly £35 for one shot. Admittedly, I normally charge upwards of £100 for the same so this is heavily discounted! Ill let you decide on the best location as I'm not sure where the majority of people are based. Could go down well combined with a meet for example?

So, if youre interested, just put your name followed by a preferred location

Thanks

I'm not sure if this classes as advertising, as I'm not really a trader of any sort. But if this post gets removed I understand. smile

How about I charge you £40 for 8 shots of my car, which you are then free to sell on elsewhere. Sounds like a much better deal to me. biggrin

Im based near Leeds (west Yorkshire). I use an olympus DSLR with a couple of lenses, its definitely not the most expensive kit out there (cost me around £860), but I can do almost any kind of shots with it. What can I say, my money gets spent on the car instead. biggrin

Do you have any example pics that you have taken?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm surprised that a pro doesn't have more high end kit. Do you find you can do everything your clients require with your gear?

More to the point do you have public liability?

You need to be very careful here mate, if something goes wrong with someone's expensive car you could end up in a whole heap of bother.

I think without any examples of this chaps work, without any proof of 'professionalism', and without a link to HIS website (as opposed to some generic Yank sh't), I would be VERY cautious about taking him up on it.

No disrespect Touge, but you're new, you've no photos up of YOUR car, let alone any other work you've done so far, and the web-link you've put up on your profile is a US site. We don't know you from Adam, and you've so far put up nothing to tie-down who you actually are...

Give us some reason to trust you, to 'buy into you', and you might get some interested parties...

Christ, you lot are a friendly bunch arent you?! biggrin

Just to clear some things up...

-Id actually forgotten about the site in my profile, it has no affiliation with my photography, its simply a US car club. I joined this site a long time ago, and at the time my profile was filled out, I had a passing interest in photography. The only real times Ive returned to PH have been to check the dates for Marhams trackdays, as my brother is based there. Ive been along to watch a couple of times, but Ive never found the thread in time to race. Hopefully that will change for April.

-The kit I use has always been enough for a clients need. About the only type of shot I cant do at the moment is a rolling macro shot, as I dont have a rig. Thus far, this has never proved a problem.

-Admittedly, I dont have public liability, in all honesty I didnt see the need for it. If this were a track day event, or a car park full of Saxos I would have looked into it. If this puts you off, then fair enough. smile

-For some temporary links to work, my FlickR account is http://www.flickr.com/photos/22797421@N04/?saved=1... and if you are interested in my car, I have a project build http://retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=...

Im not some terrorist trying to steal your money. Im simply a car fan with a camera and a PC trying to make some money for the car, thats all. smile

Edit - Not sure why HTML links wont work...

My FlickR account URL wont work either. My profile name on there is 'Miata Circuit Hero', or alternatively I have some pics on TalkPhotography.co.uk under the name 'Circuit Hero'.

Hey Grez,

I think you may stuggle as alot of folk on here will do this kind of thing for free, such is the nature of photography these days. You're right you shouldn't be judged by the value of your equipment.

I'd love to know what this is though "rolling macro shot". You do know what a macro is?
