First time driven in anger.....pretty pleased with the results.
Heard a lot of comments on the day, but didn't get a chance to write them all of them down. Ride quality, power, styling, colour, interior......anything you like really! Your comments?

from my own pov and I've been in most things now...
very smooth, great sound, as quick as my RS6, nice toys and arguably the best (smoothest & quickest) paddle shift box I have ever come across including the audi dsg. Handled well too although I'm not sure I would drive it quite so hard in the wet as I would an RS4 or RS6.
A serious contender against an RS4 or M3 I would say.
hated the colour but you cant have everything
ps. my favourite bit... the vent in the wing behind the front wheel (but I am a bit odd about vents & stuff

Think I mentioned it to you, but looked vary composed in the corners for a car that weighs around 2000 kilos.
Looked promising, with the notable exception of the aesthetic abomination of the 4 exhaust setup...
1700kg curb weight (1730 with sunroof!)Looked promising, with the notable exception of the aesthetic abomination of the 4 exhaust setup...
2000kg is the GVM (4 fat boys, luggage and fuel!)
He-he!
I liked it & was surprised that given it's 1/2 ton heavier & only a couple of BHP more powerful, that it can play with a B7 RS4 in a straight line & atain the same top speed & i guess the 0-60 is about the same.
Update, just saw the above post with weight, i'd not realised the weight in the book was fully loaded with 4 hefelumps. What's it's weight in-line with the Germans, i.e. full of liquids & driver etc. Think that's refered to as curb weight. Makes more sense as i was shocked it could haul that well if over 2 tons.
Had a PAX lap & i was pleasantly surprised at how it looked, drove & sounded. I like to track alot so not sure how well the IS-F would do in that environment & i'd also like to see/drive in the wet & see if it's easier to handle than say an M3. My only other gripe & it's small, but why did Lexus feel the need to have a fake pipe either side? I think it's the lower exit but it's not connected to anything, just a fake silencer. Tricks like that do devalue slightly at this level i feel.

Really, Pete can you comment on that, I thought they were all real (but didn't look too closely)?I was seriously surprised, to be honest I thought its great Lexus is finally selling faster cars over here, but thought it might not be everything people hoped, I was wrong.
I've forgotten his name
, but whoever took me out for the passenger lap was a top bloke and could clearly drive! I'm pretty sure we managed 172 on the lap I was in the car for and he demonstrated that the car wasn't the handful that tiff made out on 5th gear and was it appeared to be very happy on the limit. Gearbox was amazing and everything seemed fantastic from the passenger seat.I passengered in it with Derestrictor towards the end of the day...
Usual Lexus build quality and fit and finish (LS430 owner) and nicely muted until you press the right pedal. Handled beautifully with 4 up as well.
Gearbox very, very nice. I've driven the 460 and found the gearchanges almost imperceptible. The paddles seemed to enhance the experience.
The best thing in my book was the brakes. We hauled up from 172 quickly and efficiently. Pete said it had done that all day. Given it had at least 2-up all day, thats quite impressive, is that.
Price wise its up against a few big hitters....probably good that the RS4 isn't built any more, but you still have the 4 door M3 and also the imminent C63. Given the heritage of both the IS-F's rivals, its not going to be easy.
But...all in all a great car. Thanks for the pax lap, would have loved a drive, but another time...
Cheers
