Ted - hope you don't mind this?

Right you lot

If anyone is interested in camping for the Moto GP the weekend on 20th/21st/22nd June, please email me via my profile, by next Wednesday (for initiall numbers!).

I just need numbers of potentially interested parties - no need for definate numbers yet.

Please let me know in your email :-

Your PH Id, your email address and the number of people and any children coming (as this will be per person per night event).

To give you a rough idea of cost - less than a night at the cinema each (I hope) biggrin To include pitch, beer tent hire, and our own latrines & showers (which we will hire)

EVERYTHING else you will have to bring/pay for yourselves - entry to the GP, food, beer etc....

Ah, the madness of camping at a bike GP.... van surfing, jumping mopeds over burning matresses, chanting "Hans Spaan" and doing the accompanying movements....

Probably all been stopped by the H & S wombles (except the Hans Spaan bit, he just retired)

Supposed to be motoring en France that week, but as nothing's booked, put me down for a possible, ta. smile

The finest circuit in the UK in my opinion, Donington. I guess the access gets a bit more restricted during MGP but for the LMES it was superb. Sat on the inside of the S's, feet up on the fence, shoes off, beer in hand, wonderful!

Fraid this year I've gotta travel up on the Sunday morning due to Saturday night commitment (I know, nightmare, esp. as i've gotta come from Surrey ! cry ). . . In fairness normally stay in B&B down the road but would have been up for a PH camp . .

Shame . . .

So far, we have around 38 people interested, woohoo some with children hehe

I would stress that this is NOT a PH organised event, this is merely going to be a group of friends & families meeting up for and camping, and watching the Moto GP.

We have a fixed £5 per person cost for the camping smile Then we have a variable (at present £50 each), for toilets (essential), showers (essential) & marquee (beer tent/rain avoidance) hire, because this is back to basics in a field folks biggrin

So, if you stop both nights it will cost you £60 each, just Saturday night £55 each.

If we get more people, this will come down.

Please can you email me to confirm DEFINATE interest, and what nights, so I can work out exact figures?

I need emails so I can mail out the details for deposits etc, so I can book stuff.

Cheers

Okies

I mailed everyone that had mailed me last week and asked them to let me know by Friday what they wanted to do about showers/toilets etc, as was getting expensive.

Those (few) that have replied, have voted for no toilets and no showers.

So the cost of this event will be - £5 per person per night, paid to the lady on the gate as you arrive.

Wetwipes are a wonderful invention, I suggest you bring them with you, or learn to dance naked in the rainwink

Directions and map will be sent out nearer the time, please email me via here to let me know of your interest so I can send them to you.

Apologies now - my (new!) laptop is now broken - it 'fell' off the table (fvcking kittens) and has to go back to the manufacturer to replace the hard drive (10-14 working days). Which means, I have no emails to refer to (I use Outlook to collect them), nor my list of email addresses and people that wanted to come.........

Soooo........

We are going here, as recommended by Balmoral Green and Jagdpanther a few pages back laugh

Hill Farm Camping & Caravan Park
Hill Farm,
Moor Lane,
Barrow-on-Trent
Derby DE73 7HH
Tel. 01332 705165

Field with the trees in the middle is visible here, to the right of Moor Lane, just north of the farmhouse, above the pointer arrow...

Facilities are minimal though, only one loo and basin, shower. Wholly inadequate for sure biggrin
But then, those of you that responded to my email re showers & toilets voted to go without and use WetWipes hehe

I will get any new emails (from today) as will be stored on Yahoo, but all my history is gone until I get my laptop back frown, so any questions please ask here or mail me biggrin

Sorry!!

Now able to confirm we can make this. Tickets just ordered biggrin

If the weather's good, we'll be there Friday night, if not, Satruday morning. Will probably be bringing a couple of MTB's to get around on.

Where are people planning to be to watch the race? I was thinking down near Starkeys Bar again, top of the slope.
