guys,
to cut a long story short, recent events have transpired such that i now have 2 flights to venice i no longer need, so im looking at different options of destinations to change them to
they are ryanair flights and i have an option of flying into bergamo, milan, which i believe isnt a million miles away from lake garda, and some nice roads
what im wondering is whether it would be possible to hire a nice car to do a day or two's driving, staying in a couple of nice places en route.
has anybody done anything similar, or can reccomend any car hires places etc?

Flying into Milan, you're not far from the Monza GP circuit, and all of the Italian lakes (e.g. Como / Maggiore / Garda) most of which area accessible from the A4 autostrada out of Milan. If you have the time, you could drive up the autostrada that follows the eastern side of Garda to Bolzano, from there to Merano, which is then a stepping stone into the Dolomites and the likes of the Stelvio Pass.
