THERE IS NO MEETING ON THE 17TH. THIS MONTH IT IS ON THE 24TH AND 25TH.

Right then, August Bank holiday weekend, decisions to make, DIY shop, garden centre or Knebworth Park to be surrounded by loads and loads of classic and sports cars.

No brainer really KNEBWORTH it is then for the Greenwood Exhibitions Classic and Sports car show. Now TVR has always put out a good showing here, organised by the Mid Essex group while Herts and Beds had no regional organiser we got involved again last year and had some 35 cars out on the Sunday. We intend to better it this year as a precursor to making the weekend a TVR national event in 2009.

All regions are welcome with entrance payable on the gate unless you have advance tickets.

Directions could not be simpler A1(M) to junction 7 from either North or South and turn into the park by the Novatel that is literally just off the exit roundabout. Go past the hotel entrance to the Flagpoles where the young ladies will take your money or check your ticket. Once through follow the road round until you come to a steward separating the cars, normal ones to the right, show cars straight on towards the house. If you are in the TVR you are a show car and when/if asked you are with the Herts and Beds TVR Car Club. Other stewards will direct you as you get closer but normally will not know where we are so you need to look out for a Black TVR flag and the Car Club banner. Usually we are on the hill in front of you as you get into the main area or sometimes down on the right hand side.

This is a family occasion with a small funfair for the kids, auto jumble and cars, cars and more cars. For an extra cost you can also tour the house and gardens. There are professional catering vans there both days but feel free to bring a picnic; you can camp overnight on the Sunday if you are coming any distance.

So come out and join us on the 24th and 25th August for what could be the prequel to the Big Southern Gathering. If we can get enough cars this year I hope to be able to convince the Lytton family who own the house and park and Greenwood that we can run a joint event for 2009. We want to replicate the success of the Chatsworth gathering down south, we can do that with your presence.
