Not too sure where to post this but guess someone on here could help me on this one.

How much quicker is a 996 GT2 compared to a standard 996tt in a straight drag.

I have seen figures suggesting that a 996tt can get to 186mph in 75 seconds (which seems a long time) and a GT2 can get to that speed and back to 0 in just 51 seconds. Is the GT2 really that much faster. How would a GT2 compare to a DMS mapped 996tt (non X50)?

TIA

In 2002 Autocar took a 911 GT2 to Nardo; top speed 196mph.
0-186mph = 40.9secs.

Cant help you on the 186, but mine k16 did standing mile 170mhp in 27.9 seconds, and the GT2 did 173mph and 26.8 seconds. The two wheel drive is slightly quicker off the line.

The 997 GT2 did 0 - 300kph in 36.2, in sport auto.

It also hit 200kph in 11.1, vs. 12.6 for the 997 Turbo and 13.1 for the 996TT 450bhp. The MK2 996 GT2 did 200kph in 11.8.

That would seem about right.
