'Taster' events for track day novices

Club MSV, MotorSport Vision’s in-house trackday organiser, has launched a series of affordable ‘taster’ events for both car drivers and bike riders that have never taken their own vehicle onto a circuit. These special events will take place at all four MSV race circuits – Cadwell Park, Snetterton, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch. For just £25, trackday novices will receive a full safety briefing including circuit driving techniques, followed by a 20 minute session on track. For the first three laps, drivers are led by a safety car in order to familiarise themselves with the circuit and learn the racing line. They can then complete the remainder of the session at their own speed. Separate sessions will take place for cars and bikes. Alex Baker, Track Day Organiser at MSV, said: 'There are many people out there that would like to experience the thrill of taking their car or bike round a famous race track, but don’t want to commit to a full day’s experience at their first attempt. These taster events give those people the chance to try it for a remarkably low price.' I went to one of their novice days (at Brands Hatch) and it was great. Very well behaved, well marshelled etc. I was only in a Vectra but still had loads of fun.
