South West BMW Meet (Cheddar Gorge)

Hi EVERYONE, My name's Tim and I am currently setting up a meeting for BMW enthusiasts/owners in the south west of England on E30ZONE.NET. It has proven successful before but it would be good to get an even BIGGER turnout this time.
The plan is to meet at
Sanders Garden World
Bristol Road
Brent Knoll
Highbridge
TA9 4HJ
(Leave the M5 at junction 22, then at Edithmead roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A38 signposted for Bristol South, Airport, Weston-Super-Mare. Sanders is on the right about a mile off the roundabout) at 11:30am on sunday 26th april 2009. We'll then head up into Cheddar Gorge for a look around all the cars and the gorge(beautiful scenery), maybe a few photos, then a nice drive up through the gorge(brilliant driving roads) to a country pub for pub lunch(optional obviously) then whatever everyone wants to do.

When you say leave the M5 there , do you mean your car or the motorway If you mean the car... Why leave it at J22, bring it with you

All you need to bring is yourself, your car And a bit of cash if you're going to join the pub lunch. Oh and a camera is recommended

Can you tell me more about the actual reasoning/psyche of car meets?
I am not too mechanically savvy nor do I know a great deal about older BMWs (development history, trophies and awards etc..)
What do people usually do once we are all parked up in the car park? Do we car swap? Do people just jump into other people's cars and start toying with their stereos?

I'll be going alone so just want to avoid being that wierd unsocial guy

I don't know what you are expecting but this will hopefully give you a rough idea. Its just nice to get a load of people that are interested in the same things (i.e BMWs) all in the same place at the same time. Usually we all meet up at the garden centre and when everyone has arrived we head up into the gorge. To be honest with you, that's about it but it is what you make it. You get to see all sorts of BMWs and obviously people. Your lack of knowledge will probably be beneficial as you will learn things from other enthusiasts/owners. I've not known car swaps nor people just jumping in others cars without permission but if you want to swap cars for an hour or so i'll be more than happy to oblige myself If you know any other BMW owners BRING THEM WITH YOU!!! THE MORE THE MERRIER!!!
