Folks,

now is the time to start getting on the case if you would like to participate in this year's Brighton National Speed Trials - it's the Worlds oldest motor race, having been run since 1905! See the website for details:

www.brightonandhovemotorclub.co.uk

This year's date is 12th September, but you need to get membership and an application form well before then.

Feel free to PM me if you want to join, as I can provide proposers and seconders for membership.

Dan

Seen this a few times but never made it down. Looks like a great day out even if you're not participating!

Do you know which club runs the bike entries?

decided it's overpriced for 2-3 runs up the strip: getting MSA class b license + the entry fee frown

Had a call from someone t'other day to check the spelling of my surname, seems my writing is as good as my driving paperbag Forgotten the name of who called, would that have been you Dan or someone else? Either way it seems I am being processed although nothing on the doormat yet from BHMC, have however got my MSA licence through

Bet after all this I don't make the shortlist for the SpeedTrials lol.

Yes, that was me on the phone. The card went out before Easter, but 2nd Class, so should arrive anytime. If you haven't got it by the end of the week, give me a shout or PM.

Seems like an awful lot of hassle for two runs up the strip. scratchchin mind you wouldn't have minded running the Sag down there.

Dean, there are much more cost efficient types of motorsport Im sure. But thats not what the Speed Trials (to me anyway) are about.

Its a really good day. Get to show off in front of 10,000 peeps. A real diversity of cars (and bikes) to watch/hear/smell going up the strip. The comaraderie. The pits are fully open so lots of people coming down the line genuinely intersted in your car/the cars. Great fun thumbup

And, being in the Novice Class, getting one practice and one timed run, I should have more to moan than some.

If you wanta cheap day of motorsport, go down your local kart track wink This one's for real men only hehe

Hark, is that a gauntlet I hear thudding to the floor?

Not convinced you can get Proban Race Suits in pink anyway, so probably a moot point for you Dean.

oh looky, another gauntlet lands on the floor right next to that other one
