Morning all, been a while since the last shooting day at Bisley.

I suggested a provisional date of FRIDAY 3rd July ?

Normal form, meet up early at Bisley. Different events including clays, 1000yrd targets, pistols, muskets etc etc (Matt C to fill in the details).

Anyone who hasn't been it's a great day with expert tuition from Matt and his buddies in the GB Olympic team.

Beginers and marksmen welcome...

Provisional cost for a full days shooting, multiple disciplines £180-£200 per person

If you are interested, please add your name to the thread.

Not for me but my 13 year old would love it. He shoots air rifles with Scouts. How much is it and would be be allowed to join?

Cheers Stuart.

Very happy to lay this on. Although ammo costs have gone up massively over the last couple of years, I'm fairly sure we could do the same or similar format as last time for the same price, which I think was £180.

Not quite GB Olympic team (we're World Champions but the Olympics don't shoot long enough ranges, only the dull stuff!), but would get some senior internationals to help out and probably some junior internationals too (will try and get one or two cute ones), since their needs are greatest - in essence the coaches provide their time free, in order to raise funds to compete overseas (typical costs for which are about £3k!).

Format last time was a morning of (i) 1000 yard rifle; (ii) black powder pistol (big ball, musket style); and (iii) clays; followed by a sandwich lunch, then an afternoon razz and drive out to Racing Green to look at their classics.

Let me know if:
(i) those three disciplines are the ones you'd like to do; other alternatives are gallery rifle (standing, scoped, short range); smallbore rifle (prone); running deer (the deer's made of metal) etc;
(ii) you would rather shoot in the morning and drive in the afternoon, or vice versa;
(iii) you'd rather a proper lunch instead of sandwiches, at slightly higher cost; or alternatively we drive to a pub if it's after shooting;
(iv) where (if anywhere) you'd like the drive out to go to, e.g. Brooklands?

Over to you, Stuart et al. BTW if you do it marque vs. marque like last time, I'll bring the Z06 and be a paying punter myself again.

Matt, what are the 'new' alternative options like Galleried shooting ?
Care to explain a little. Personally would like to cram as much shooting in as possible, seeing as it's a special day off etc wink

I think I'd be up for this.

Will I have to renew my club membership or something or is this open to all?

Fired some stuff in my youth (which was a very long time ago) so count me as a novice and certainly interested depending on confirmed pricing.

Sorry, not been on PH much lately and since I didn't set this thread up, I fon't get notifications of posts on it...

Gallery rifle is smallbore rifle with scope sight, standing position, at about 50m.

Time has moved on so we may have to move the day back, but if more would like to sign up please do so - it needs numbers close to 20 to work.

Derek et al,

How about 14th August?

Could do it with smaller numbers then, since there will already be people doing something similar.

Please PM me if so.
