Great turnout, great weather, great noise.

If you are looking for something for BH Monday it's a winner ! £32 on the door for me and the kids, couple of expensive burgers and cokes but hey !

Happy days !

I went down today. Never been to watch proper drag racing before and had a great time. The Top Fuel Dragsters were mind (and ear) blowing!! Simply incredible!! One of them cracked a 4.7 ish 1/4 mile and crossed the line at 307mph!eek

Not been for several years but, I still remember the experience well!

You can feel the noise verberating in the lungs.

A question:
If you had a sportscar which crossed the start line at 200mph, at exactly the same time as the top fuel dragster set off, which would reach the 1/4 mile first?

I'd say the dragster .... They do a VIP package for 500£ for 2 people that includes a seat in a 2 seater that can break 200 ... I am soooooo tempted !

At 200mph, a car will cover the 1/4 mile strip in 4.5 seconds.

In Europe no top Fuel Dragster has gone sub 4.6, but in the US, the all time best is 4.38 seconds.....

Ah, yes. I did mean America. Quite incredible really.

If you bought a car which could do 60mph in 4.38 sec, it would have to be something pretty special... smile
