I see BigThunder are having issues with the locals and noise at Bruntingthorpe, does this mean Vmax is under threat again?

Not under threat but lying low for a while, seems the locals are throwing toys out of the pram again.

it still beggars belief that people are able to move into an area knowing a track, airfield or whatever has existed there for decades, that comes with noise...and then often succeed at getting it shutdown or limits imposed to the point its barely capable of surviving......ranting

....and then it gets sold off as an industrial park so the locals can complain about the lorry traffic smile

It may have something to do with the "Victor incident" earlier this month,
where Bruntingthorpes resident Victor Bomber went for an unscheduled flight
during a fast taxi run on the 3rd May. It was only a 30-40 feet high hop for
about 3-400 yards due to a big gusty crosswind

and this is how far off the runway she was when she touched down!

It was a very scary moment and could've ended in a total disaster.

I'll leave it for Jez to comment as it's his field of expertise

Holy poo....

We are all lucky that didn`t end in tears, aircraft dont fly unless they are told to.

Someone was being a right prat and should be off the project.

A very succinct answer Jez!! rumours now doing the rounds that the chap in the left hand seat
set the aircraft up for takeoff and not for taxiing! i.e. CofG forward and flaps fully up etc and that the chap
operating the throttles opened the throttles further by accident when he was told to shut them
I suppose panic must've set in as the aircraft ballooned into the air!!

I understand the skidmarks on the edge of the runway where matched by the pilots!!
