What's the stand for? I'm putting my Elise on the Pistonheads stand. Really looking forward to it.http://www.cpop.co.uk/
I went today. Managed to get into the area where the Bugattis were on display and got some close up photos of the Royale. Now that is on big car!. It appears to be like Goodwood in the mid 1990s but will need to attract some big name drivers and teams (eg F1) to get anywhere need to Goodwood. Its certainly a good start over the last 2 years. One thing that needs to be changed are the toilet facilities - few and far between and has nobody there ever heard of people wanting to wash their hands
Everyone wants to copy Goodwood but it'll never happen as the big names will only ever go to a very few events
I've never understood this worship hero stuff or celibrity worship myself
I'd sooner thank a good health worker, fireman or policeman for what they do than the greatest of sportman that's ever lived and I suspect few of them have ever driven cars - ooh as Mrs Merton said " Let's have a heated debate"
No excuses for not being able to wash your hads tho'

More photos here http://www.lawrencecliftphotography.co.uk/30360/in... . What a day! For those that didn't attend for one reason or another, I'd certainly reccomend putting this event in next years diary and do the FULL weekend as there's too much to do and see. VERY similar to Goodwood's Festival of Speed but the viewing points (at the moment in the events infancy) are really good, a lot better than Goodwood's, plus with the track being circular (to a fashion) there's no hold ups with the grouping of car category's. There was a broad range of cars and bikes to be seen and heard!
The car club areas could do with WC's and catering, although this may be addressed in future years?
I wasn't aware that the proms was an annual event at Cholmondeley but they combined it with the PoP and (for me and lots of others) it really worked, despite the rain for an hour or so, the atmosphere was fantastic. A few regulars wanted to keep the events seperate, but for me I wouldn't have thought about going to the proms event for an evenings entertainment.
To sum up, a great family day out and an event worth attending, fantastic for the North West.

Really enjoyed Saturday - they've certainly learned from last year, although I feel very bad for the organisers that they've suffered bad years two years in a row. Gutted we didn't make Sunday. Unfortunately we woke up on Sunday morning and it'd been raining all night. It was still raining and the grass was a challenge on Saturday so we decided discretion was he better part of valour and skipped it. Feel bad for not supporting the event better, was it rained on and off all day so I've no idea how we'd have got our cars out of that muddy field.
Thanks to Lawrence for setting up. Same again next year but with added sunshine?!
