Something For The Weekend: 02/08/09

Ultima Open Day 2009, Sunday 2 August

Ultima Sports Ltd is holding its annual open day on Sunday 2 August this year.

The kit car manufacturer from Hinckley, Leicestershire is the maker of some pretty serious metal (er - GRP), including the sensational GTR, which holds the world record for 0-100-0 mph, completing the test in just 9.3 seconds.

There will be a range of real customers' cars on display, including a selection of GTRs, Spyders and Can-Ams, and their owners - as well as Ultima factory staff - will be on-hand to chat with punters, offering advice to existing and prospective owners.

Free refreshments will also be on hand, and no appointment or booking is necessary to secure a place. Think of it like a one-make Sunday Service, and you'll be on the right track!

For more information visit the Ultima website.

I wonder how Ultima's sales have increased since the demise of TVR?

9.3s? Last time i heard it was 9.4s; still bloody quick either way! Wonder what the most power is you can genuinely use on the road? Is the 720 too much power for the B-whatever?

That world record has now been eclipsed by the Caparo T1 which does it in circa 7 seconds. Still bloody impressive for an all weather car though.

Martin they complete relatively few factory built cars - not something they have really chased.

If you're talking about 5th Gear farce, that was just telly.

For the record, EVO tested the Caparo in November 2008 and only managed an 11.3.

The Ultima does it in 9.4 smile
