On Wed 30th December we've arranged a Toy Run for the children at the Shooting Star Hospice in Hampton. We're all meeting at the Ace Cafe at 11am and will be convoying over to Middlesex to deliver the gifts.
We are asking everycar club we know to come and join us - it would be great if we can add Pistonheads to the clubs involved.

As a lot of the children are terminally ill the hospice has provided a suggested toy list, this and details/updates can be found here: http://www.fueltopia.co.uk/events/incarnation-with...

Look forward to seeing you at the Ace

I for one would be happy to do something for such a worthy cause. I'm fairly sure I'm not doing anything that can't be re arranged that day.

Hi there Jimpson, I am a friend of Harsh's and saw his post on PetrolheadNirvana.com. I am up for joining in on the 30th with my Fiancé so we're going to do our best to rustle up a big bag of toys from the list and will see you at the Ace on the day.

Look forward to it...

James and Sarah. smile

I can possibly do this, have you thought about parking at the other end, if I recall they are on the Sunbury road with limited access?

Happy to take something on your behalf,

i've just ordered a load of stuff online from sensetoys.com for the kids.

Mark, thats a good point, if the OP doesnt answer i'll check it out myself in a few days time.

Sounds like a great idea - good excuse for a drive and hotdog for a good cause!

Just had a look at their website and it's their office on the Sunbury road, the main place is in 'The Avenue' which looks fine for parking/ access

Silly question probably, but should the presents be wrapped or would they prefer them unwrapped so they knnow what they are getting and who to give it to?

Will definitely try to make this.

Had a look at the toy list, online ordering really isn't going to work for me given the date.

I'm never there to accept any parcels and we have some serous theft going on suspected from the lcoal sorting office(£16k credit card fraud to me alone!!!)

Is there a cash alternative or something? I understand it won't mean much to the kids but I can't really think of an alternative. frown

How about ordering it to the Hospice address and bringing a print out of what you ordered on the day?

It arrived this morning smile

All geared up now.

Was there any consensus of opinion about wrapping/not wrapping?
I'm leaning towards the idea of not wrapping for two reasons
1. I hate wrapping and
2. I think they'd prefer to see what they were getting at a glance just in case someone broought along something inappropriate? (sad world we live in but c'est la vie)

Can do this, what is the format for the day ? i.e what time are you leaving the ace ? what is happening at the hospice i.e are you allowed in to drop the gifts off or not ? Do you plan to stay for a while at the hospice or is there a run organised ?
Just curious so we can plan the day.

Tony.
