This is not intended to have a go at anyone at all - but firstly i am disapointed that a cracking event has been cancelled and secondly i think it is a shame for all the die hard phr,s who have put their name dowm in good faith that they will be attending another fantastic meet. i feel that this sort of thing will happen time and time agin from now on!.
Like i said - not moaning just expressing my disapointment.

Just think how disappointed you would be if you could not get in.

The fact they want to do it improve the organisation is great and will make it better for everyone. The right call in my opinion.

I think Garlick and the other Ph bods made the right call. I've never seen a Sunday Service sign up get out of hand like this one. Myself and a few others had signed up early on, but had our names taken off by subsequent people signing up, a more secure and fairer way of signing up needs to be sorted out.

Can't wait for the rearranged meet biggrin

I had been following the SS thread, hadn't signed up yet as I wasn't sure if I'd be available that weekend!
I didn't realise that gatecrashers had been removing other members names though, is that true? Surely it can be seen who was doing this?

I agree Garlick and the others at PH made the right decision,

It's a shame it's been postponed but i'd have been a lot more disappointed if i'd driven for 2 and a bit hours to be turned away.

I do think a better system should be in place. Such as a database driven system that you can sign up to (this way your name won't get lost or removed by some people).

When you sign up, you get emailed a confirmation code and link you can click on to confirm you're attending. If you don't confirm your attending within say 5 days (or 3 days before the event) then your name automatically gets removed so others can join.

Also, if you keep signing up and not actually turning up you get black listed for reserving a space and never going.

When you turn up on the day, show the PH volunteer the printed code thingy at the entrance and if it matches the same one PH emailed you, then you're in. smile

(This will require someone from PH ticking people off when entering the car park though, but it will work.)

e.g. Anubis - 350z (378AB85)
JoeBloggs - Ferrari (489FH88)
...
etc

This won't stop people gate crashing on the day as such, but it will stop people from being able to park in the designated spaces set aside for PistonHeaders. This will stop the facility from overflowing - those not on the list will have to find somewhere else to park and walk there.

Just an idea...
