Ok,

So I'm looking for ideas fo things to do tomorrow, and I fancy taking the Mrs out for the day. I live in South London, and i suppose i'd set a limit of about 100 miles radius. anyone think of somewhere with some nice scenery and somewhere we could have lunch, with a nice bit if driving for me in the meatime.

Suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

Matt

Ahh, went to uni there, and so did she, so maybe try and avoid east kent. Good suggestion though - I nearly always avoid the M2 on the way down there as there are some good roads in that part of the world

Graduated in 2003, so a bit before your time. Still head back a couple of times a year though - a couple of friends stayed in Canterbury. Has a fking excellent time there. So many storied that still have me absolutely howing with laughter!!

Funily enought - on the topic of driving roads - my landlord down there at the time was a guy called Jeremy Mynehear - often seen in various supercars down there - anyway, he gave me a first drive in a Ferrari - he let me take the wheel on a sunday morning run back from Ashford. Legend. Went round the roundabout outsdie the venue about 10 times to see who was watching : )

Does he own a Yellow lambo now? I used to see that cruising around the Tyler hill area all the time.

It wouldn't suprise me..

At the time he had...

Ferrari 360 (silver with the Challenge grills)
Maserati 3200
Bentley Turbo
Audi RS4

and some wierd DeTomaso Pantera thing that i'd never seen before...apparently bought it off another loaded mate on a whim and didn't know where to get is serviced.

Parking in canterbury as you know isn't easy if you have loads of cars, so he used to keep the ferrari in our garage.

How about Lamberhurst or Rye? Try to include seven mile lane in your drive, seriously good road.

i quite like driving to virginia water for lunch, depending on where you are in s.london if you go down a217 and get on the a25 going east past box hill all the way across and up through ripley could be a nice drive if you dont want to head too far out of town.
