Mille Miglia 2010
Discussion
My brother is getting married this year to a lovely Italian lady and their wedding happens to be taking place in Italy nr.Mantova on the 8th May.
I had already planned to go a couple of days earlier without the other half to take in a couple of local car factories, but then it suddenly dawned on me that the Mille Miglia starts on the 6th....oh dear what a complete coincidence.
I fly into Verona on the 6th and have a couple of free days to spectate this great event. So....
Has anyone ever been?
Any tips, any great specatating points etc...
I'm with hire car so travelling no problem athough I'm not planning to go further South than Modena.
Thanks for your help.
we have booked our holiday to coincide with the race, luckily it passes through the village in tuscany where we are staying on the sat morning, then stops for lunch 20 mins up the road. plan is to watch them parade through the village and follow uo o see them all parked up.
drove down 2 yrs ago after classic le mans, flying this year and renting a car.
looking forward to seeing the cars

I drove it a few years ago a great event !
You can buy the guide etc road book in advance and follow it all the way, unless you are in a media car
you may have problems following it through some of the smaller villages and also into the center of Rome.
You can follow all the road sections beware the Italian drivers still think it is a race ! and it is a hell of a laugh .............. one of the best events to follow that is for sure if you are into your classics.
