New visitor to the Nurburgring 24hr
Discussion
Hi Guys
This year we are having a change of scenery and are binning Le Man 24hr for Nurburgring 24hr. I have booked the euro tunnel for our convoy but just wanted some camping advice from people who have been.
Mainly, where is best to camp?
Do you park where you camp?
Can you pre purchase the camping tickets and if so where from?
thanks in advance
Tim

Hi
I'm also going to Ring 24hrs for the first time this year. I have similar questions to Tim.
So to reiterate Tim's questions:
Do you park where you camp? Or is there a car park where you then have to walk to the campsite? If so, how far at Mullenbach?
Can you prebook the campsite? If so, where? Link?
I understand that Mullenbach is reasonably far away from the Nordschleife.
Does anyone have any experience of other campsites closer to/within the circuit? How/where do you preebook them?
Thanks
John

there are plenty of camp sites around the Ring - pretty obvious really given the scale of the circuit. You park where you pitch at Mullenbach in with the price and the site at least does have a form of security (up/down barrier when you show your wrist strap) which is a rarity at the ring, I think. Yes Mullenbach is a 15 min walk to the circuit (up hill there so down hill coming back) but it is in the general vicinity of the GP circuit so handy for the start/finish and all of the splendid new museum, rollercoaster etc. Another 5-10mins walk gets you into Nurburg (Pistenklause etc) and then allows access to the inside of the circuit. Be aware that to get the most out of the Ring 24 hour, you firstly have to accept a lot of walking to experience lots of great viewing spots and secondly,it is helpful to do some driving so that you can get to Adenau etc. Hope that helps. Also good to visit the Nurburgring official web site and that has a link to the ADAC 24hr site. http://www.nuerburgring.de/en.html
