Reminder: PH Sunday Service At Dunsfold
Join us this Sunday at the fantastic Dads Day Out at the Dunsfold circuit
Recently we told you about the fantastic Dads Day Out at the Dunsfold circuit, taking place on Sunday 16th May. Well, time has flown by and the event is nearly upon us. With the event less than a week away, it’s time to update you on the new attractions that have been added since the last story.
In addition to the supercar rides around the Top Gear test track, the helicopter rides, the three driver training areas, the fun fair, bouncy castles, live bands, the Roary Zone, fire engine and double-decker bus rides (and breathe), the organisers have added even more fun stuff.
The East Coast FMX Motorbike display team will be providing some extra excitement, as will M.A.D., the mountain bike display team, who will also be showing what they can do.
There are now around 500 cars booked onto the static display from a variety of car clubs including PistonHeads and there’s room for a few more. Highlights including a Jordan F1 car, a top fuel dragster from Santa Pod, the Lightning electric sports car, and a host of other interesting cars.
In terms of stands and stalls, the food vans are all Petrolhead-themed and there’ll be plenty of other attractions to interest everyone, including a display from the paramotor club with the amazing Skycar. The famous Skelta, which featured on PH just the other day, will also be making an appearance.
Attendance levels look set to be up on last year and, while only 100 cars have signed up on the event thread, we’re told that over 200 PHers have booked to come along so far. As a result the organisers are making sure we have extra PH parking space available. To take advantage of that extra capacity, please book here.
You will only be able to buy the display passes online until 3pm on Friday; they will not be available on the day. On arrival, show your display pass (which will be in the form of an e-mail attachment sent with your confirmation e-mail), tell the marshals you’re from PistonHeads and you’ll be directed to the special PH area.
Use the link above to book supercar and blue ribbon rides also - the car list includes F40s, F50s, Atoms, Astons, a Carrera GT, an Enzo, an Alfa 8C, and Ford GT40s. You won’t need to buy another entry ticket, as the ‘display pass’ lets you in.
The same link will also allow you access to the driver training areas which includes:
The Caterham Club, showing off their own brand of car control, including drifting and donuts with you as a passenger.
Roadcraft, who will be teaching the art of performance car control with you driving your own car.
The Independent Driving School, which will be giving those from the age of 14 upwards a first taste of driving.
Please note: The supercar rides will now stop at 4pm instead of 4.30pm due to noise restrictions at the venue.
however the earlier you get there, the less traffic you'll encounter and the more chance you will have to book a ride.
Munch, tickets are available on the gate but they will be general entry tickets and will cost £8 per person and i think £4 per child so buying a £7 ticket in advance for a car and everyone in it is well worth doing.
the £7 PH and static tickets will NOT be available on the day and without one you will have to park in the public car park whcih is much further away. The £7 deal is only available until 3pm on Friday, after that it's general entry tickets on the day which as i have said cost more.

As long as i can see the cars going round the track it'll be fine

See you all there chaps, I'm not on the original 'attending' list but will be there.
I'll be there in the 328 if you want a closer look....
I would like a look at your car actually, good idea

I didn't realise that you need a ticket in advance to be in the PHER's car park, as last year we just turned up and all parked on the runway. As time is now short i suppose it's not worth risking buying one in case it don't get here, or are they E-Tickets?
Cheers
Jim
Last year you still had to buy tickets to get in, the display ticket takes the place of the entry tickets for PH'ers and they work out cheaper than general entry tickets.
The Static display of last year is still there but has been split.
The one next to the event arena is an arrive at 9am and leave at 4.30 thing, whereas the PH display/car park is arrive and leave when you wish as i know it would be difficult to get the 200-250 cars in at the same time.
