Autopia Breakfast Club and 'How difficult can it be??'
Discussion
Autopia News - July 2010
Autopia Breakfast Club - Following our successful 'Drive-it Day' BBQ, we're launching a regular monthly meeting for classic car owners and enthusiasts, running between 10am and 12noon on a weekend morning, to encourage owners in the region to come along, show off their cars, meet other petrolheads and socialise, we've arranged a Burger van to offer food and we'll be opening the workshop up for visitors to see the facilities, if the ramps are not already in use, we'll also offer the chance of getting a couple of cars up in the air so owners can have a good look underneath for free.
The first Breakfast Club will be on Sunday 22nd August and I'm pleased to say that we've got a couple of clubs already confirmed.
How difficult can it be??? - We're starting a free monthly session, showing that maintaining and servicing a car is easier than many people think, organised in conjunction with Blackburn College Motor Vehicle Engineering dept, each session will take place on a Wednesday evening from 6pm - 8pm and will focus on the typical issues surrounding maintaining a vehicle, the first session led by Ian Carter will be how to pre-MOT test your car to reduce the risk of receiving a fail or advisory note. The first one is scheduled for the 18th August and places are limited to 12 so booking early is encouraged.
In addition to these new activities, we still offer Autopia as a free venue for Club meets, particularly if a group wishes to arrange a technical session in which they put a car up on the ramp and one of the most technically astute members runs through some of the issues that the marque suffers from, it's an interesting alternative to the monthly meeting in the pub?
best regards,
Darren.
