Last Call: Get Filthy In A Land Rover With PH

Head to Eastnor with the PH team on August 28th

UPDATE: We've still got some spaces to fill, so this is your last call to sign-up and join members of the PH team for a fun-and-filth-filled day out at Eastnor Castle on the Land Rover Experience next weekend.

It's £199, so you save fifty quid on the official price, and if our previous experiences are anything to go by it should be a right old hoot.

So if you're currently planning to sit on your backside wondering why you never do anything properly fun on Bank Holiday weekends, now's your chance to break out of your rut and get stuck in another one. Geddit? Sigh...

Full details are below, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Get Filthy In A Land Rover With PH

Enthusiast pub banter often settles on power, 0-60 times and how you beat xxx supercar around the chicane in your xxx hatch last track day. Repetitive, huh? So why not allow PH to add another dimension to your pub talk armoury, by showing you how much fun you can have at 10mph or less, when water, steep inclines and axle-deep mud are stirred into the cocktail.

Riggers has waxed lyrical about the off-road capabilities of his Defender already, and as we had so much fun driving around Eastnor Castle in it when we visited we asked Land Rover to put on a special event just for PHers. To our surprise they did just that.

So if you have ever wanted to drive off-road, or if you already own a 4x4 and simply want to come and experience the huge playground that Land Rover has created, book up to join the PH team on Saturday 28th August. Land Rover will provide everything you need, from instructors to vehicles, from breakfast through to afternoon tea.

The format for the day is as follows:

10.00 Arrive for registration and refreshments
10.20 Welcome and safety briefing
10.30 Driving
13.00 Hot buffet lunch
13.30 Continue with off road driving
16.00 Return for refreshments and close

We have agreed a special PH rate of £199 for this day and only 24 places are available on a first come, first served basis. To book please call 01531 638779 and ensure that you quote 'PistonHeads' when booking to secure the special rate. Once you have booked your place, Land Rover will send you full details and confirmation.

Having done this twice, I can thoroughly recommend this event, and at £199 it’s a steal. If you’ve not done any 4x4ing before you cannot fail to be impressed.

If you have done some 4x4ing you will be shocked on what a std car can do on std road tyres.

The best bit, it’s all in their cars; you don’t even have to wash them after.

Take sunglasses, camera and decent foot wear (not white trainers), the rear passenger can video as you go round.

We had a great day there, so maybe they tailored it to a PH taste? I must say that we thought it was more fun than a track day, hence asking if we could invite PHers along next time.

I did Eastnor a few years ago, the more agressive course in my Defender, its great and well worth it.

I would have my name down if it was on another weekend.

How much time do you get actually driving? There's obviously five hours of it on the timetable, but I'm guessing you have to share your Landie with 3 or 4 other drivers?

The driver swaps are every 30 mins, so a good mix of driving and watching.

I was with three chaps in the Defender and I had almost as much fun as a passenger as I did driving (seriously)

Some of the routes at Eastnor are just as exciting as hammering around the Nurburgring. Except you're doing 3mph.

did it years ago, a couple of times.
when you see what these cars can do, they seem to become worth every penny.
In those days, they used white vehicles, clean when you arrive, and for dramatic effect filthy when you leave, so you should never buy a white one from a dealer back then.
Apparently they were taken back to the factory and completely refurbished before selling. Sat in the back of a Discovery, up to my ankles in water.
the only vehicle that did every bit of the course, (and towed others out of trouble) was a 90 County Station Wagon, and they are truly amazing off-road.
Great day.

Not around for this one. They have a centre near Honiton which is pretty local for me. Anybody know how this centre compares with Eastnor?
