Kent Run 2010 - At Brands Hatch
Discussion
Arrangements are in place for the finishing point of the Kent Run to be in the pits at Brands Hatch…
Lots of options are being discussed to make this the perfect finish after driving the very best roads Kent and East Sussex has to offer…
A couple of the ideas are;
Exclusive use of the pits and track, with track time available.
A general gathering with no track time.
Hot Laps with the MSV racing instructors in the MSV race cars.
The opportunity to do something for charity along the lines of a smaller version of ‘Dads day Out’ with Supercar passenger rides…
Q&A session with the Circuits organiser.
Group photo of every car along the start / finish straight.
Numbers are limited, and priority will be given to PHers who attend the Kent Run rather than choosing to go straight to Brands. This remains very much a 'Kent Run'.
Either way its surely going to be a great day and a fitting venue for the Kent Run to gather as much automotive porn as possible…
Finer details such as dates, costs etc are still in discussion and subject to what is the final plan…
What I now want from the PH public is suggestions, suggestions, suggestions…
What would you like to see and do at Brands Hatch?
Please take the time to quickly reply to whatever your willing to do / want to do as its numbers that count here...
(Lastly please keep this thread for all the questions/suggestions to do with the Kent Run and Brands and keep the other thread purely for sign up list).
Thanks
Lee

I'd be up for a little track session to finish it off!!! Done over 1,000 laps of Brands, don't mind giving people hot lap rides in the bike-engined car, especially if its all for CHAAAAAARIDY!
Good man! This is exactly what we need! Edited by Furyblade_Lee on Thursday 26th August 22:32
I'm not sure there would be a huge point of me doing a hot lap
I would be very interested in say a procession round the track at a sensible speed (led by a safety car maybe
?)
I would also happily pay if people were selling pax rides in some of the exotica/faster cars especially if that was going to charity

Hol makes a very good point. Other than some spirited karting I've never done any track work (and I've never been to Brands either) so I'd probably be all over the place. However, as a compromise, perhaps we could split down into small(ish) groups of similar cars being led by someone who actually knows what they're doing? Least that way we could learn the lines a bit etc.
Would happily chuck a bob or two at it either way

Love to be on the track but don't like the idea of other very expensive high powered cars launching passed on corners or being pretty close to me. Only takes 1 small mistake and it'll turn a great day to a very bad day. Maybe limit on how many go out at one time so they are spaced out properly on track and grouped to suit the drivers level of skill (novice, intermediate, expert).
Novices need someone experienced driving at the front so everyone can follow like a snake (no overtaking on corners maybe) and are evenly spaced out. 3 lap batches and then into the pits.
1st lap = slow to see what the circuit is like
2nd lap = faster but still getting used to it
3rd lap = up to speed and should know key points on circuit.

MSV are very experienced at organising track sessions suited around different track experience so I wouldn't be worrying too much about finer details just yet. All are valid points that are welcomed though.
A question I'll put forwared to you though;
Would you be happy to have somthing like 'Dads day out' where passenger rides are available for around £30-£40?
Thanks
I have spent quite a bit of time at Brands, and in my experience there is NO WAY they will let people loose to drive fast without full safety briefing to trackday standard. They are quite rightly very strict about that for safety reasons. But also assuming this run will be a Sunday, I think logistically getting a trackday like session will be nigh on impossible???? If there is no racing on, then I think you might be lucky to get a "duck and drake" procession lap(s) considering PH's nature and potention new future clients for Brands Hatch. But if you do manage to pull some tracktime out of the bag, count me in.
Unfortunately I have decided to cancell all to do with Brands Hatch.
Thank you to MSV for offering their services and being very willing to have us, and thank you to all the countless supercar owners that offered up their free time...
Sorry to disappoint.
Please note that the Kent Run is still going ahead... finish point TBC but will be a nice pub somewhere.
All the best.
