question to vmaxxers

If there was a track based car at vmax available for driver training / tuition laps would that be of interest?
Wouldnt get in the way of the usual events and I appreciate this isnt a track day per-se, I'm just exploring options of ways to offer some extras.
thinking atom/968CS/M3 CSL type thing.

can only add to the fun imo
Hi Craig,
I do quite a number of track days and have never done a VMAX or anything else like it apart from going up Santa Pod (in the dry). I will come back to one of your VMAX events (if you let me), it was good fun and I am sure it will be even better if dry. You have a good recipe for a good day there and a loyal base of participants and do not think you need to add anything else............ but you will not know unless you try it. All in my humble opinion of course.
Paul.........

I think a lot of extra enjoyment could be added for some folks who'd like to stretch their cars on the bends as well as the runways, but maybe don't have much experience of trackdays. How many VMAX'ers fall into that catagory?
NB: I think CSL a bit extravagent, E36 M3 would be a fine machine to learn in - fast enough down the straights, strong enough to take it, cheap enough to run & good fun in the bendy bits!!

I'd be interested in some form of tuition in either my own car or potentially another mainly as I was being a bit of a wimp through the corners. However I'm not sure VMax is the best place for that as it seems a great day the way it is.
I'll happily give you a few pointers next time if you want - happy to oblige for a fellow VMaxxer.ETA, I think also it's not just corners, I think it's also understanding the cars altitude under braking, for instance, so that perhaps those who are looking push a bit harder can do so, and therefore feel more confident through the traps.
Perhaps paying someone to sit in the car with you may work?

I think Ms Nonuts should do the driving next time.

For me it's having (or not) the confidence to push it right to the limit and maybe beyond, I've still never spun my own car on a track day for example even though I don't think I'm particularly slow!

VMAX is a great place for learning corners - possibly better than a 'normal' trackday due to the lack of other vehicles pressuring you to get off line/go faster. Most of the track has huge runoff too. I'm happy to jump in and offer some pointers on how to get a bit more out of the car round the squiggly bits.....Gassing Station | Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
