Gents, I'm considering a vmax special edition watch with a well known watch company. nice branding/design and a decent movement.

It would be stylish (but subtle) , with an emphasis on speed/driving.

I appreciate many of you have very high end watches, this would be lower end but a very nice piece nonetheless.

interested in whether its something you'd consider buying?

cheers all!

Might be worth asking on the watch forum, too, particularly regarding the brand you're working with...

yep good thinking.

To be clear, this isnt one of those cheap promotional watches, its a limited edition vmax edition numbered watch.

It's by a well respected, some might say classless brand that is very well known here.

(I'm not purposely being cagey by the way, just havent finalised things yet so want to get a gauge on interest levels 1st, please dont guess at this stage because I cant answer)

cheers guys, appreciate your input.

Yep. I'd be interested. (Normal opt outs apply!)

A ladies version (limited to, say, 50 pieces)??

Economies of scale could be a problem, agreed.

Christopher Ward? Could work well. They already do a number of LE lines for different things and are quite well-respected in the watch forum.

Breitling? "Brightbling". Some love them, some hate them.

Rolex? Too expensive for most. Some love them, some hate them because they're too obvious.

Tag Heuer? Lost its cred since Heuer (Steve McQueen) joined Tag (Gok Wan). biggrin

Aeromatic? Alpha? As much as I love these brands, I wouldn't want my business associated with them.

Omega? Getting too popular? Some say heading the way of Tag Heuer.

Panerai? Many love it, many dislike it. Big may be going out of fashion.

Sinn? Ooer. A Valjoux 7750 Sinn with VMax branding? Are you cool enough? biggrin

There is one issue to consider. http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/v-max.htm

Oh, one other thing to consider: since it's about timing and speed, you must have a chronograph function (sub-dials with seconds and minutes)!

Out of interest, will the movement be quartz or automatic? £400 for an automatic chronograph (As mentioned in the Watch Forum thread) would be a bargain! biggrin

I could do automatic if the interest was there, price would double though.

Would be more willing to pay more for a watch from JLC or IWC.

Have you thought of asking Stefan Johansson? $9.5k and can be customed.

Bluey, you naughty boy!!

Most VMaxers given $9.5K would spend it on upgrade I suspect!! I think the £400 mark is just spot on. If the clues above are right, then Craig would end up making us a nice little watch, cheap enough for a daily wearer, but interesting as a conversation piece.

I don't suppos you'll be honing the design down and giving is a few options?

What is the latest VMax logo? Or will it be say, script on back?

it will have a subtle emphasis on speed/performance, working on design now, yes will have vmax logo v small somewhere on it.

the back will be engraved vmax member & your number, ie 1 of 50 etc.

vmax logo as on www.vmax200.com (just the part that says "vmax" nothing else
