Shire to the ring 2011
Discussion

Hi all,
Me and some mates now go too the ring every year.Last year we took 6 very different cars, and had an excellent road trip from Wiltshire to the ring via holland. Now I know alot of people go and lots would like too.I also know going on your own can be a nightmare, its nice too have a group of you. Personally the trips that are organised by various comapnies are very expensive.
So I have come up with the idea of giving an open invite to this trip, So those who are interested in the ring can join without worrying too much. Last year I spent £600 to give you some idea, all inclusive.
The good thing is there is no handing over of money, All we do is let you know what date we are leaving and the time of our ferry or eurotunnel crossing, you simply have to book the same one or one close. This leaves huge flexibility for people to stay where they want, and if they want to take a detour before the ring they can.
So far we have 8 definates from a fiat 128 76' to golf R32's, so no matter what you drive you will feel at home.If you would like more details plaese feel free to PM me on here or message me on facebook.
Pleas follow the links to sign up and keep up to date on news and who is going.
I appologise if your not on facebook, get with it ;-)

Shire to the ring16th - 20th August
Dates confirmed
Here we are guys and girls, Shire to the Ring 2011 is confirmed. It is highly likely we will be departing from Folkstone at 8:00am on the 16th and coming back on Eurotunnel from Calais at 8:00pm on the 20th. Arrival/Departure times will be confirmed over the next couple of days, so hold your horses.
Travel times/Distance
We will be Leaving Malmesbury, heading to Folkestone, Via Maasricht, Netherlands and onto the Nurburgring.
Distance in all is 485miles and would take 8hr26mins if you were to do it all in one, which we wont, hence going via Holland.
Break down of journey
Malmesbury SN16 9JT – Folkestone Distance = 172miles Time = 3hr4mins
Calais – Maasricht Distance = 203miles Time = 3hr32mins
Maasricht – Nurburgring Distance = 111miles Time = 1hr50mins
Prices/Costs
Now obviously this varies dependent on your cars fuel consumption and how many passengers you have. If you have just one passenger you can half eurotunnel costs and fuel costs, aswell as chipping in on food and accomadation. Currently £1 = 1.18euro
I spent £600 last time in my Honda CRX, this included everything as well as staying in a four star hotel.
Break down of prices:
Fuel – Dependent on your car but easy too work out yourself. Fuel prices are pretty much the same as here in the UK if a little cheaper.
Accommodation – I will advise on where to book in the coming months
Food – It is a good idea to bring as much with you as you can, simply to save money, and remember if you have a passenger you can split costs between you
Laps –
• 1 lap €24
• 4 laps €89 inc €10 food
• 15 laps €310 inc €20 food
• 25 laps €470 inc €30 food
Eurotunnel – £90
