Yes, MOH and I are taking part in this. We dropped the car off at the shipping company last week so hopefully we'll see it again in Nassau at the end of next month. Going by what the guy from the packing company said, and the cars that were also there at the time, there's going to be some serious machinery taking part. I hope BSWR goes well so it becomes an annual event - it'll be something to look forward to at the end of the year. smile If anyone's interested, there's more info here. http://www.bahamasspeedweekrevival.com/Bahamas_Spe...

Anyway here's a few snaps just to give an idea of some of the cars competing.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your write-up, thank you very much for taking the time to do so. And of course the videos (especially the sprint course along the sea-front) are just awesome.

ETA: Looking at their website and the price, that looks like one incredible trip! What else attended by way of the modern supercars? Will you be taking the M600 next year?

Thanks smile. Yes it was quite something to be a part of - BTW that price doesn't include the costs of flights, upgrades, extra nights, or shipping insurance (at 1% of the value of the car!) either paperbag. Unfortunately because the Graycliff Supercar Challenge was cancelled, there weren't many other supercar entries. In fact I only remember the 458 GT3 race car, a couple of Shelby GT500s (one driven to third place on the hillclimb by Niels Jensen), a Dodge Viper and a TVR competing. There were other modern cars around in the paddock and at Lyford Cay, eg a Ferrari 360 spider, a 430, a 308, a DB7, a couple of 911s etc, but they didn't run in either competition. Some dragsters were on display too, but didn't even fire up. There was supposed to be an Enzo and a FXX as well, but they didn't turn up.

I get the feeling that the organizers want to make this more of a Goodwood Revival type event, with the emphasis on historic racing, so I don't know whether or not they'll run the Supercar Challenge next year, even if BSWR happens again. The M600 would certainly have been quick (as, I suspect, would any tuned Noble be) on both courses, but I doubt it would have garnered quite the same reaction (everyone seemed to love the FGT). I hope that the popularity of the FGT persuades the organizers that there's a place for a supercar event next year, but they'll need sufficient entries to make it worth running a separate class - I doubt the historic racers will be quite so forgiving of everyone being lumped in together for a second year. wink I suspect that this might be the nub of problem though, as not many supercar owners are prepared to compete in their cars, and it's a long way to go just to pose. hehe Hence, if BSWR happens again, we'd want to take a rather special historic race car next time, provided that we can get a deal on the shipping insurance, as otherwise the costs would be prohibitive. We'd also like to take the FGT again as well, assuming, of course, there was a class it could compete in, to defend its title. biggrin
