Donington Historic - PH Ticket Offer

Bored with the Royal Wedding? Head to Donington on the 30th April for a proper day out

The Donington Historic Festival is a major new event on the historic racing calendar, aiming to rival the very best UK and international historic motorsport events by inviting only the highest calibre of cars and drivers. Taking place on the weekend of 30th April, it certainly offers a more interesting alternative to the 'other' event happening on the same weekend....more PH at least.

As well as more than 300 world-class historic racing cars competing flat-out on the (newly updated) Donington circuit, there will be hundreds of glorious classic cars on display including Group B rally cars and historic karts.

On track, the racing will have historic racing cars battling it out in a packed programme of races with cars from the 30s to the 80s, and wildly diverse grids that range from Group A Touring Cars to Group C sportscars, taking in pre-63 GTs, Formula Junior, 1950s and 1960s sportscars and pre-war cars.

Two new series will also enjoy their first ever rounds at the 2011 Festival: first, the JD Classics Challenge for 1977-85 Touring Cars and, on the Saturday evening, a 250km, two-driver endurance race for World Endurance sports prototypes from 1964-71.

Gates open at 08.30 and the circuit action starts at 09.00, running through to 20.00 on the Saturday and 18.00 on the Sunday.

The weekend line up will comprise:

- Group C sportscars
- RAC Woodcote Trophy for pre-56 sportscars
- FIA Lurani Trophy for Formula Junior Cars
- Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-61 sportscars
- Pre-63 GT
- Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Car Series
- HSCC Historic F2
- U2TC, Pre-66 under-two-litre Touring Cars
- JD Classics Challenge for Groups 1 and 2, and Group A Touring Cars
- '1000km' for pre-72 sports-racing cars

As the line-up looks very 'PH' we have arranged for all PHers to receive an additional 25% discount on the advance ticket prices.

To PHers an adult (16+) Saturday or Sunday advance tickets will be £13.50 and adult Saturday and Sunday weekend tickets are only £22.50 (children under 16 go FREE if accompanied by an adult ticket holder)

Click here to book online or call the 24-hour ticket booking line on 0844 873 7355, quoting the special PistonHeads promo code PHDHF1 to claim your 25% discount.

Not a dig, but there used to be more 'win free tickets' competitions in the past which don't seem to happen as frequently nowadays.

I appreciate that times change and with the current financial balls-up it's less likely to happen frown

Having said that thanks for the offer thumbup

True, but we have given away a car, a loan of a our 370Z, a few good trips (including heading to Geneva with us next week), new car viewings, factory tours etc.

We can only offer the tickets when they are offered to us, but I'm sure we'll see some in 2011, sooner or later.

Any chance of in-field parking for all of the attending PHers?

Very much so. The organisers are quite accommodating, so if you buy tickets it's worth posting here so we can get an idea of the numbers going along.

Camping? Or am I slightly unhinged with the thought of a small piece of lightweight nylon, some plastic poles and a piece of string to sleep under in April.

Ermm.... The prices quoted on the official 'SEE Tickets' advanced booking are £18.00 +£1.50 booking fee.http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/smilies.htm#

Not quite the £13.50 in the intro text! And no weekend combined tickets apparently. Do we get the discount if we add the xpense of a 'phone booking instead of book on-line?
But I'll be there....

Cheers!
Peter

Glad I'm not the only one who thought about it! :haha:

Interested, but it's a bit of a trip down, will see if anyone else is up for it.

Must be good deal Motor Sport magazine are offering the same deal for subscribers. Should be a good entry though as it's being organised by HSCC. Could be tempted if it was the 29th April then I could escape the Royal Wedding.

The promo code works fine. The screen shows the full prices but you just have to enter the promo code and click the [proceed] button to update the prices.
