Fingers crossed will be at Villa D'este this year (well the peasants version next door in Villa Erbe). Anyone got any advice based on previous experience?

Also hope to stay a couple of days either side of the weekend (flying Wednesday to Wednesday), with first 2 days staying in Turin visiting Pininfarina and the Museo Del'automobile. Next 2 days at Como for the Concorso. Was really looking forward to spending the last couple of days visiting Milan and the Alfa museum but apparently it's closed for maintenance, drat.

I don't think we'll have time to get to the wider parts of the region for things the Lambo museum etc but you never know. Does anyone have a list of must-sees? Tried emailing Ital Design to see if there collection is open for viewing but as usual no reply.

I'm already sensing a return visit one day soon not least for the Alfa museum.

I emailed Pinifarina but no answer either. Haven't been to Villa D but have done Motor Valley and can recommend making the effort to do the usual suspects. Seems like you've got a fairly busy programme without the essential attractions of Ferrari. Maserati, Lambo, Pagani.

Went a couple of years ago - just rocked up - parked on a back street quite a way away - paid the 10 euros or whatever it was - wandered around - watched the cars - food not rip-off - took photos - parade towards the end of the day - left - fine day

Pininfarina replied which they have not done in the past - must be a bit hit and miss.

Have since heard that the "maintenance " bit of the Alfa museum story is PR tosh, the real reason is Fiat want to flog it all off and it's mothballed pending a court appeal.....could spell curtains if those nasty Fiat beancounters have their way.
