a few of us from SKCC ( southernkitcars ) are having a days driving in France / Belgium. It was only going to be a 'kit' based day,but John G from here asked if it would be ok as he'd met a few of us in France on another event. So we decided to open it out via PHeads.
To be clear we're not in 'full hoon' mode for this the idea is:
Drive some of the decent smaller roads stopping for a cofee after about 45miles, a further 40 miles will take us into Belgium and the area around Ypres. We'll visit 2-3 of the following depending on time/weather etc: Tyne Cot cemetary, Sanctuary Wood ( open air museum trenches etc ) and poss Passendaele Museum. the area is compact each site very close so we may work out some indirect routes to give us a little more 'car' time. We'll end up at Ypres around 18/18.30 for a wander and to witness the Last Post which is sounded at 20.00. Then back to the Shuttle for the 22.40 return.

The way we do these 'away days' is to provide an ITN which folks can pop into their TTom and then we run in small groups to make it manageable ( shepherding non TTusers if needed).

If anyone is interested please drop me an email.

Did this a couple of years ago, excellent place - try the German cemetery nr Ypres, very cold and very moving.

The last post is top but get there early for a good view, alsotry driving through the gate an hour or so before as well, a great place for pictures.
