British Motor Museum Sunday Service | 08/02

Sunday Services are back! Our 2026 events calendar kicks off at the British Motor Museum...

Sunday Services return on Sunday 8th February, and we’ll be kicking off at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon. Last time we visited, more than 700 cars filled the car parks - and we’re hoping to do the same again for our first event of 2026.

The museum will be open from 9am with exclusive early access for the PistonHeads crowd, giving you the chance to explore the venue before it opens to the general public. There’s also an exclusive, on-the-day discount for PH members, with museum entry available for just £14.00. Please note that discounted tickets are on the door only and cannot be purchased in advance (standard price tickets are available online).

The British Motor Museum has one of the most eclectic car collections in the UK, with more than 400 vehicles celebrating the past, present and future of British motoring. From industry icons to lesser-known curiosities, there’s plenty to keep enthusiasts busy. The museum’s latest exhibition explores our sensory connection with cars, covering everything from the emotional impact of engine noise, to the development of in-car entertainment - and even featuring John Lennon’s 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V.

Free guided Museum Tours run at 11:00 and 14:00, with Collection Centre Tours taking place at 12:00 and 15:00. These are subject to availability but come highly recommended if you’ve not experienced them before.

Important bits:

  • Book your place here – spaces are limited
  • Discounted museum tickets are available on the door only
  • Event passes will be emailed on Friday 6th February
  • Please note: there are no toilet facilities or catering available outside the venue. A museum ticket is required for access

So, if you fancy joining us for our first event of 2026, make sure you sign up and let us know what you’ll be bringing. We’re looking forward to another strong year of events - including the 2026 Annual Service, which is now on sale.

When: Sunday 8th February, 09:00–12:00
Where: British Motor Museum, Banbury Road, Gaydon, Warwick, CV35 0BJ
Cost: Car park entry free | Museum entry £14.00 (discounted, on the door)
Times: 09:00–12:00 | Museum: 09:00 (PH early access), 10:00–16:00 general opening

So, if you've been to the Gaydon museum before, and just want to attend the Sunday Service it will cost £14 to use the toilet? Sub-optimal.
Errr... no. Access to the Haynes cafe for an excellent bacon buttie (and loos) doesn't require a ticket

For anyone who already has a Gift Aid museum ticket (which allows unlimited return visits), that ticket is valid for this event.

The discounted £14 ticket is for a single-day visit only. If you’d like the option to return within 12 months, please ask for a Gift Aid ticket at the front desk (£21, which is the standard ticket price).

I’ve spoken with the museum, and because they’ve had a few issues in the past with access and overstaying, they do need to be stricter during events like this. These are museum policies rather than something we’re able to change.

Are you not getting confused with the Haynes International Motor Museum in Yeovil?

wavey Looking forward to seeing everyone for our first event of 2026! As a reminder, the venue is strict on their entry policies. If you don't have a ticket to enter the museum - you will not be able to use the toilets or cafe.

Capacity for the event has been upped to 500 cars, I'll be sending out all passes on Friday afternoon. Please make sure you have signed up, or, if you can no longer attend the event, have removed yourself from the list. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a message. smile

So it's £14 if you need a pee?

Will the outdoor toilet block that's open for their Tuesday evening car meets be open?
Similarly, no outdoor catering like they have for those meets?

That was an enjoyable event, thanks for organising.

Any links to photos of the event, or suggestion on how to find them would be welcome, the only reliable way I can find to locate any is searching for location 'British Motor Museum' on Insta, in case anyone is interest.

The hashtags are too repetitive to isolate just yesterday's event.

Agree, and thanks to PH from my son and I for organising a pleasant day and arranging for it not to rain. Our Fulvia Coupé drew some admiring comments and was, I think, the oldest car in the car park.

To all those frothing about the loos: the immaculate toilet and shower block was open and freely accessible.

We chose to pay our £14 each and spent a couple of hours enjoying the museum and the Collections Centre, which I hadn't been to before.

My son's car of the day? 33EJB, the 1964 Monte Carlo winning Mini Cooper. The force is strong in that one.

That Fulvia attracted a number of comments, too. Chapeau.

Wells has been discussed a fair bit in here. There was even a prototype of it in the museum.

Unfortunately I didn’t see the one in the carpark. frown

That was a decent day out. Some interesting cars on the car park (loved the green Skoda S110) and the museum is always interesting.
