Got an Astra 2.0 Turbo SRi, Z20LEL with a VXR turbo and precat removal pipe fitted, had it for couple of years now with no real problems, but now it's started making a bit of a chirping noise on gearchanges when I'm giving it a bit of stick, no noise if I'm taking it easy. It sounds almost like a quiet dumpvalve. Am I right in thinking it's something in the recirculating valve, maybe a split diaphram or something like that?

Thanks in advance...

It could well be the OE recirc valve. It's a well known problem for the diaphram to split in them as they are only rubber. We have the Forge recirc valve fitted to ours (it's a piston type not a diaphram so durability is better and if you are having/thinking of tuning it's a must).

Just a quickie, is the chirping noise sound like a pigeon??

Hope this helps
