Hi all,

I noticed today that my girlfriend's 1995 1.6l Vauxhall Tigra had a small air filter hanging loose, which clearly should have been in its case (see pics)

I'm fairly sure it's a crankcase breather filter, can someone who knows more than me confirm this?

Assuming it is a crankcase filter, how do I go about replacing it? My Google skills have turned up nothing except generic filters designed to fit all cars, is that the right way to go,or should I try and find one specifically for the car?

It looks like the whole filter houseing needs replacing anyway as something has come off it meaning it now longer closes around the filter.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

that is part of the secondary air system, just clean/degrease up the mating faces and use araldite or similar to glue it back to gether.

Common fault on Tigras. (i've had 3)

They're about £15 for a new one from vauxhall through trade. Or gaffer tape?!
