Adjusting gear linkage cables

Guys,

Before I get stuck in, is there a normal way to adjust gear selector cables on manual gearboxes?

Car is a Mitsubishi Evo 8, 6 speed.

At the moment I have to pull the gear stick across more than is comfortable in order to select reverse.
