BMW Diff alloy LSD housing??

ANyone know if there is a company supplying alloy housings for the LSD diff for large case BMW diffs (type 210)?

The standard diff weighs in at 43 kg, I need to get some weight out of it without compromising strength in the casing & thought this might be a way to go.

I know BMW Motorsport produced alloy diff casings fro the 188 diff (E30M30), but I don't think they did for the 210.

I havean E46 M3 diff in the back of my rally car, and it was much cheaper and easier to simply machine the wall thickness down a bit in numerous places (understand the load paths and do this carefully!) to loose a significant mass (iirc i think it was about 6kg). Bmw use cast steel casing for noise control reasons in their cars (similar co-effeicient of expansion between internals and casing so the pinion / crownwheel mesh does not change with temp)

My understanding is that the BMW diff casings even the motorsport ones have never been alloy. The rear cover usually is and the motorsport ones are usually finned. I'm currently using an Z3 M coupe casing with Rogue engineering twin hanger alum backing plate and spacer so it all fits on my E21

I'm not thinking about the casing but the diff spool, the casing can be machined down (read ground!)

1991 DTM part I believe.
