over into what?
Into another Corsa that had the same engine, it'll be nice and easy, just change the metal, and leave the electrics, however, swapping it into BMW 7 series will involve some changes to the electronics, and new engine mounts.

LOL @ TheEnd Maybe he'd need 2 engines for that?!

The management only controls the inlet plenum on that engine so just change the lump over and leave the auxillaries. Quite why you want to change the engine when it's a mechano set of an engine is a bit surprising though. What happened to the old lump?

Headgasket or oil pump?

not quite sure tbh its drinking oil and smokes blue very heavily,
just for clarification its just a straight swap into a corsa,

i've heard the oil pump go one one of theese before but the top end sounded really bad
so i dont think its that to be honest, allthough i'll gladly take any advice.

thanks

Straight swap should be without problems.
The only thing you'd need to watch out for of fancy calibrated sensors, like electronic throttles, and even then, they will often sort themselves out if left for a few minutes

I've worked on loads of these lumps and if you're just changing an engine then use the existing ancillaries like the inlet plenum and throttle body. The injectors / fuelling system is not calibrated to the ECU like with a peugeot for instance and you'll have no troubles sliding a new lump in it. as a precaution though, check the oil seal at the bottom crank pulley for leaks. If it's leaking it will need doing and is a lot easier out of the engine bay. They fail badly (oil pump) and the whole side of the engine has to come off to get at it. They are prone to head gasket failures too which is normally caused by a sticky valve in the expansion tank cap. Change them every few years to avoid it.

right then i've got the compression tester out and here are the results.
whats the general consensus?
DRY TEST
1 220psi
2 260psi
3 240psi
4 260psi

wet test
1 270psi
2 270psi
3 300psi
4 290psi

it says to me valve seals possobly?

Or maybe bore wash. Could even be loss of compression through contaminated oil. Have you done a head gasket test yet?

no not as yet my fluid got contaminated frown
There's no evidence to point towards HG failure, runs sweet as also.
