i would guess if its the shaft gone then its a new unit!!! lucas and bosch I would guess the lucas is a re man unit? should be fine if its the same spec fittings and elec plugs...Also, is there much difference between the Lucas and Bosch part?
Its probably a free wheel pulley (sprag clutch) fitted that's broken up on that alternator, not unheard of on many cars that have these fitted nowadays, I have changed more of these than i care to remember BMW, Renault,Peugeot for example, you would need something like this for removal/refitting though pulley should look like this
