Hi,

I have some Rover V8 Rods that I need Bronze Bushed to suit a different pin on my chosen pistons.

Can anyone recommend a place that could sort this for me?

Any idea what sort of dosh this would be real rough idea?

Many Thanks

They'll need to align hone them properly for a start. Plus, just wait till you start looking for bushes. They're usually the wrong size which may mean you machining from solid, bugger. The US is cheapest for off the shelf plain bushes.

You might be best just going to a specialist manufacturer of conrods rather than a general machinist or engine reconditioner. They'll have the proper tooling and also the right bronze in stock plus they'll know the tolerances to work to for both the press fit of the bush and the clearance to the pin. Try Phoenix Crankshafts in Slough. It should be a piece of piss for them seeing as they're making bushed rods day in day out.

The smaller the pin the better as this will leave more metal in the rod for a bush with decent wall thickness. If the pin is too big it might not be possible without the rod ending up too weak.

BTW for anyone needing an EN40B crank reconditioned or just a real precision crank grind and balance they're probably the best out there.
