Hi there, I'm not sure this is the correct section to post this in but I couldn't see any others that seem relevant.
I've got a 1992 renault clio Williams trackcar fitted with a highly tuned clio 172 engine on throttle bodies. When I built the car I had power flow make an exhaust system for the car but every Trackday I've been on I've had noise issues at. This year I don't want the same to happen so I'm fitting a reverie airbox and planning to get a higher quality exhaust system made for it.
Does anyone know of an exhaust company who understand track noise regulations and are able to make an exhaust system that will quietened down my car properly for this year.

Cheers. Chris

Ah brilliant, cheers chaps I've fired a couple of emails off. I suspect this might cost a few quid.

Depends what you're after really. I doubt the underside of a Clio is particularly difficult. Lance/OJZ's prices really are superb value given the quality of the work.

Best to phone though.

Chances are all you need is an extra silencer stuck in somewhere. I'm betting you only have one in there at the moment. Any decent straight through silencer (you should be able to look right through it) of the right bore size should do the trick. Can't see why this should cost much or why it would need a performance exhaust specialist.

Usually one silencer about half way down the car and another at the tail end will meet track day noise regs. It tends to be single silencer systems that have problems.

It seems fairly universal that anything supplied and installed by Powerflow dealers is totally and utterly ste.
Ive yet to be proven wrong with that. Low quality materials, crush bends, poor quality fabrication, and crappy silencers.
But hey, you get to choose your own tail pipe, so many love them.

How they manage to be so universally crap is beyond me.

Back in the day when I had the exhaust system made it was just a company I knew made exhausts to suit any car so I went with them. The system is awful if I'm honest. Originally it was simply a pipe with a backbox but that was OFFENSIVELY loud so I took it back and had a centre silencer fitted but it's barely any quieter still. I ended up cutting the tailpipe off and welding a smaller one (as I left them free choice to fit a 'normal' tailpipe and they fitted a massive one) then I was able to make a slip on silencer. That almost does it but I still have to short shift when near the noise monitors.
It's just not what I want from trackdays I want to concentrate on driving.
