Has anyone got and good tips or guides to correctly read spark plugs.

Mr Andy Frost has pointed me to a very good guide, but I might post up some photos for puma racing to analyze

You can buy an Otoscope off ebay, very useful tool to have for plug reading.

Would any otoscope do or do you need one with a minimum magnification for reading plugs

Magnification and light are your friends. The lenses are usually a bit small but they work.

If you cut off the threaded portion you don't need the otoscope. That is needed for reading plugs at the track without cutting off the thread. The light illuminates down into the depth of the porcelain.
