A map of a guy? How does one map someone else? I suppose mapping every atom of someone would be an essential part of getting Star Trek transporter technology to work properly but we're a fair way off that just now.

Anyhoo good luck with the problem whatever it turns out to really be.

Pumaracing, I think it depends on the map scale. A small scale one would only have space for the main towns

So is it a standard map or a generic uprated map, or a made-to-measure map for someone elses car?

Do OS do those?

There's a lovely map shop down the road from me in Upton, perhaps I could go there..

If it's a RAR file, I expect you can unRAR it.

Well it will be exactly the same map as is currently on your car, so is quite useless to you

Assuming it's a zipped up .hex file, then you can use any of the free "hex editors" to open the file, and using a combination of trial and error and skill you can probably identify the main fuel and spark maps within the file (it's EEC IV ems irc). Then you can modify these values to change the basic mapping of your car. You then need to program this file into your cars ecu, using the J3 connector that is on every ecu.

There is plenty of info on this on the web, just google "EEC iV reflashing" but it's a steep learning curve for anyone not of an embedded electronics background (much easier to just pay to have it done with one of the many people who have cracked this ems)

for example:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/73358189/17/EEC-IV-EEC-V...

Of course, on an otherwise standard NA engine, there is little or no benefit to changing the EMS parameters which are already optimised for you engine..........
