friends wife was driving him ,on the m25, she accidentally (dont ask) knocked it into neutral, panicked and immediately put it back into drive, circa 65mph. Likely to have done damage? It seems ok

Nope, done it a few times in mine.

As a kid I used to reverse then slam it into drive and floor it to get automatic burnouts. The box didn't fail!

Reverse is a whole different matter hehe

Nope. My BMW allows you to move between neutral and drive without releasing the latch.

Neutral is neutral. Applies to all gearboxes.
