On a 4 pot inline N/A engine with 4 chokes [carbs] on fixed length [eg 12"] straight intake runners , does it make much difference where the chokes are placed in the runner ?

ie chokes as close to valves as possible , with long carb trumpets , or chokes as far away as possible with short bellmouths

What power delivery characteristic /changes [if any] would this produce [ assuming all else unchanged on the engine]

Generally throttle control is much better when the throttle plates are closer to the inlet valve.
