wondering if any of yous will know an answer to this... my clio is an 08 plate and it has started to misfire, wondering if anyone could tell me what is wrong with it?

my partner took out the plug leads and there was no change in the engine tone but whilst being driven it was still misfiring and the toxic fume light was flashing!

any ideas on what to do would be great!? smile

I'm not being rude ( for a change ), but therein lies part of the problem seeking help remotely.

The more proper information you provide, the more chance of a helpful answer. And most answers will rely on you having some technical ability or knowledge whether to carry out some tests or otherwise.

So whilst a small question, it is a huge ask for someone to diagnose based on the information provided.

It will be assumed you have an engine management warning light on with the engine running, this in turn will mean some fault codes are stored which may require diagnostic equipment to retrieve. These codes should ( not always, but should ) help direct you to the problem.

Given the car is french, and their electrics are usually terrible, it could be as simple as a faulty coil pack, or as horrible as some wiring problems.

Removing all 4 plugs and testing for spark whilst cranking is one course of action and may give more of a clue as to where the problem lies.
