I have a Subaru Outback that I have a small issue with. When cold and for the 1st few miles the upshifts are a little bit hard, kind of a small jolt...it seems to smooth right out once up to temperature. If anyone can explain this behaviour i would appreciate it, also if I should be looking at any preventative maintenance. Just so you know AT fluid was changed at the last service.

Had the same behaviour with worn solenoids on a Volvo box, and also on a Chevy box.

Hmmm, I suppose I need to take transmission expert to understand if this is the cause...I expect this will be an expensive trip. Or I could just live with it!

It is a relatively cheap fix on both a Volvo and a Chevy box as it's drop pan, replace solenoids and re-fit pan. No gearbox out. Dunno about on a Subaru tho!

When you say cheap......
I would live with it until they start being more than just a " bit bumpy"

I did say *relatively* Hahahahaha. Was still a lot cheaper than "You'll have to have the entire box out and rebuilt" smile
