I posted a similar question on the jap car thread, but im after a more definative answer.

currently getting my mates supra back on the road, need to give it a service.

The car is a 98 vvti model running max 1.4bar on twin hybrids, with FMIC Exhaust and filter.

Its never been dyno'd but im guessing around 380-400rwhp? maybe more?

Is there any need for 10w50/60 or is this overkill?

Would a decent 5w40 fully synth suffice?

The car will not be tracked.

Cheers

Doesnt sound pushed that hard, a good quality 5/40 would be fine

Millers do a good range of all grades

I think 5W40 should be fine.

The last thing you want in a 2JZ if you are revving it beyond stock redline - or even to it sometimes - is thick oil... unless you have a modified oil pump, that is. smile
